Special Needs Buns and Long Term Residents
ADOPTING A RABBIT WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
Georgia House Rabbit Society is a no kill rabbit shelter and rescue which means every bunny we take in will receive the medical attention they deserve, regardless of cost. When deemed healthy, rabbits are placed up for adoption. Some rabbits have conditions requiring long term or permanent medical care. It could be something simple like eye drops or an older bun with arthritis. We consider these bunnies to have "special needs” because they require a little extra love and personalized attention. If you are interested in giving one of these special bunnies a home, please note that in your Adoption Application. We always fully disclose any known medical conditions and can often assist with medical costs if needed.

LONG TERM RESIDENTS
Unfortunately, there are some rabbits who are harder to find homes for:
-
They may have needs that go beyond what most people are willing to manage
-
They may have long term/complex medical conditions
-
Some have been returned at an old age making them harder to adopt
-
There are some bunnies who are continually passed over for no reason at all
These bunnies are considered to be our “Long Term Residents” and are often cared for by one of the GHRS Volunteer Foster Homes for extended periods of time or even for the reminder of their lives. Because of the continuing care these rabbits require, donations in support of our long term residents are greatly appreciated and will help ensure these special rabbits continue to get the care they deserve. To donate toward the care of our Long Term Residents, click the Paypal link below. The funds will go directly to their care!
