Shelter Tours & Off Site Education
Educating the community is one of our core philosophies here at the Georgia House Rabbit Society, and we welcome the opportunity to share our knowledge of bunnies and rescue work. If you are interested in learning more about rabbits, volunteering, or animal rescue, then you have come to the right place!
Below is a little information about the types of programs we have developed for rabbit advocacy and community outreach.
The GHRS offers 30-45 minute tours of the shelter. Your visit to our shelter includes a presentation, question and answer session, and guided tour of the shelter complete with our rescued rabbits! These tours are perfect for church groups, Boy and Girl Scout Troops, pet clubs, and more. See our guidelines below for more details.
Off Site Educational Programs
Would you like us to come to you? We offer off-site educational programs for local schools, libraries, churches, senior centers, and other community venues. Conducted by one of our knowledgeable volunteers, these educational programs discuss our Rescue's mission, rabbit care, and the impact humans have on rabbits. These programs are good for both small and large groups and may feature adoptable rabbits from GHRS. See below for more details and contact information.
Guidelines for Shelter Tours and Off-site Educational Programs
Program and tour requests must be made at least 8 weeks in advance
Shelter tours are only open to groups of 15 or fewer people
For more information or to make arrangements for your group, please call the GHRS shelter at 678-653-7175 and leave your contact information. An Educator will contact you as soon as possible.
While the GHRS offers these programs free of charge, donations are always appreciated!
