Yay, Rusty! We are happy to share the good news of Rusty’s adoption. This handsome bunny had a very difficult beginning. As a baby, he struggled to survive outside, living in an old wood pile. Suffering from Bot Fly strikes, ticks and an injured eye, this little guy was lucky to be found before he succumbed to his injuries. After being taken in by the GHRS, Rusty healed and waited to find his forever home. We are excited to say that Rusty doesn’t have to wait anymore! Today Rusty is living safe and sound, inside a home and being cared for by his adoring family. Congratulations Rusty!! We look forward to hearing updates from you and your new friends!

Original Post: Little Rusty was given his name because of the little patches of red hair he has on his backside. This poor little guy had a hard start. He was found outside as a baby. He had been living in a wood pile where he somehow just managed to survive. A nice couple finally caught him and brought him to us. He was covered in ticks and had been attacked by Bot Flies which left wolves in his neck and cheek. He also had an unler on his cornea. We got him to the vet ASAP and together we took care of all this little guy’s problems.

Rusty is a sweet little Silver Marten boy who still has some growing to do. He is at the shelter and ready for adoption.

If you are interested in adopting one of our available rabbits, please read about our Adoption Procedures here. Please be advised you must be at least 18 years of age to qualify. We do not adopt to college students living in dorms or to daycare facilities.
The GHRS is an all volunteer 501c3 charitable organization. We rely on the generous donations of people like you to continue our work of rescuing rabbits in need. Any assistance is greatly appreciated and helps us feed, house and supply medical care for our shelter rabbits. If you would like to make a tax deductible donation, please visit our PayPal Page. The buns will be forever grateful!
